Boarding NewsDecember 10, 2020
Dear Boarding Parents
Last Friday, we ended what, has for all intents and purposes, been a very challenging year for not only the College, but the world in general. Covid-19 stopped us in our tracks and it was certainly testament to the calibre of our girls and the staff that we were able to finish the year so well. I thank the girls for the wonderfully cooperative and mature way they dealt with the situation so well. My thanks too, go to the staff who ensured we kept the mandatory guidelines ticking along and you the parents for supporting us throughout it all. Going forward I do to encourage you all to download the Safe WA app so that when you visit boarding in the future you can just scan our QR code and we can do away with the many sign in sheets we have been using this year.
To celebrate the year’s end, Chef Chris prepared a beautiful Christmas menu for dinner recently which the girls thoroughly enjoyed, some even using it as the perfect opportunity to invite a teacher to dinner . All the teachers who attended have expressed their thanks and commented on what a lovely evening it was.
Boarding will reopen for all students on Sunday 31 January from 12 noon for new boarders and from 3.00pm for returning boarders. Year 12s needing to enter early after the Ball may do so on Saturday 30 January from 12noon. Please advise me before January 25th if your daughter will need accommodation on the Saturday night
Year 7s, 11s and 12s commence school on Monday February 1 2021 and Year 8, 9 and 10 girls on Tuesday 2 February 2021. We will be taking the girls not attending school on Monday out for the day on a recreation activity.
I invite all parents, siblings, guardians and other family members to join us on Sunday 31st at 5:30pm for our Boarding Family Welcome BBQ from 5:30pm. Prior to this, a welcome mass for new boarders will take place at 5:00pm. So that we can cater accordingly, please complete the online RSVP form in the email I sent you earlier this week before Monday 25th January 2021. Please note you don’t need to include your boarder in the numbers. The event is a wonderful opportunity for grandparents or other family members who may be your Perth emergency contacts to join us in boarding.
Should you have any queries about the BBQ, please don’t hesitate to contact me on 0413 918805.
In Mid-January I will be emailing parents with important information regarding your daughters return to boarding for 2021. Please ensure we have your up-to-date email details, so you are not missing out on important information.
I wish you all the very best for the festive season and a for a happy, healthy and prosperous 2021.
Head of Boarding
