Parent Forum News

A huge welcome to the new school year 2018 from the Parent Forum to all existing families in the College community and to all our new families who have joined us.  We welcome you as always to our meetings which are held in the College staff room on a Wednesday evening on the dates listed at the end of this update, and we also look forward to meeting you at the various Parent Forum run events during 2018.

Parent Forum Welcome Garden Party
Our very first, and very well supported Parent Forum event, is to be held on Sunday 25th February 4.30pm to 7pm outside the stunning Heritage Cottage area is our annual Welcome Garden Party.  Old and new families of all ages can come together and enjoy an afternoon/early evening soir, of music, sausage sizzle, mocktail punch, together with fun for the kids, in the form of large outdoor garden games and puzzles, and a bouncy castle!  Bring your picnics, rugs, chairs etc. and meet new families, chat with families who have been in the College community for several years, and join us for a lovely enjoyable Parent Forum event.  Entry is $3 per person, tickets available from trybooking :  Full details available here.

Special thanks to Tammy Brutti, for once again taking on the organising of the event along with her band of helpers.  If it were not for parents like Tammy, giving up their time, our children, and the greater community would not have the chance to enjoy these out of school time activities. We are therefore always looking for more helpers/volunteers willing to be involved in such events.

 Parent Forum 2018 Committee
The PF are looking forward to another wonderful year, with some fresh faces on the Executive Committee.  The office bearers for 2018 (as confirmed in the last newsletter of 2017) are as follows:

President – Dave Thomasson
Vice President – Tracy Gall
Treasurer – Amanda Wallace
Secretary – Paul Kettle

I look forward to working with these fantastic volunteers/parents.

PF Grants Scheme
Once again, we have the Grants scheme running which was run so well by our Secretary Paul Kettle last year that we hardly carried over any monies into 2018. We have already had a grant approved for the RoboClub run by Rob Hill, at our first meeting this year.  Thanks to Rob for running this very popular club, which has been strongly supported by the Parent Forum.

First 2018 Meeting
Moving on to our first meeting of this year, which was held on Wednesday 7th February, and saw a wonderful turnout of old members and new members in our community.  We look forward to many more new faces joining us for 2018.

Secondhand Facebook Page
The Secondhand Facebook page, which has been very successful, has been run by Rus Thom with help from Kristen Sankey, for many years.  Rus and Kristen have asked for someone else to take on this job, and to that end, we are now happy to announce that Jo Whittington will be taking on yet another role as our Secondhand Facebook coordinator, so thank you Jo.
