Reports, Subject Selection and the bIBliotech
It has been a fantastic end to an extremely busy second term for both the primary and secondary students. All families have received via the College portal a copy of their son/daughter’s report and we strongly encourage you to discuss it with them over the holidays; focussing not only on areas of improvement but also to celebrate achievements during this time. It is important to look both at achievement and also application when reading the reports, as we want all of our students to achieve their personal best!
We have held our parent teacher and student interviews this week in two different formats, either via phone in the Primary School and Teams in the Secondary school. Thank you to all families for their patience and understanding as we used this alternate format this term to connect with families and are really looking forward to welcoming back next term in person. Our teaching staff loved being able to discuss progress, goal set for the coming semester and to meet with you.
Subject selection has commenced for our Year 10 students and an extremely successful (and well attended) Zoom Meeting was held with over 70 families plus an additional session held for our boarding families. It was great to be able to see families sitting together, discussing the information presented and also asking questions which we were able to share with the group. We were also able to introduce families to our ‘Virtual Career Expo’ designed by our Helpdesk Wiz Mr Stephen Vivier and Mrs Margherita Almond (Careers Officer). As mentioned to families, it is a journey we are on together and this will continue into Term 3 when then individual interviews take place (a reminder to please book these via your try booking link).
The bIBliotech is also ready to welcome the community back through its doors in Week One, with our regular opening hours returning to 8 am – 4 pm Monday to Friday. The Team has been very busy preparing new collections, displays and even a special space for our senior students (although I know it will be heavily used by all students) with a Harry Potter reading area.
I wish all families a safe and wonderful holiday break and we are looking forward to seeing you all in the coming semester
