Thank you!

Last Term, SBC raised a total of $2 322.85 via Project Compassion Boxes and the Easter Raffle. This money will support projects coordinated by Caritas in Australia and neighbouring countries. Thank you for your support!

LifeLink – Winter Appeal 2022

This term our fundraising efforts will support LifeLink agencies. The LifeLink organisation was established in 1994 to provide for the ongoing financial and promotional support of agencies established or assisted by the Catholic Church in the Archdiocese of Perth.

‘The Shopfront’, a LifeLink Agency supporting needy families in the Archdiocese of Perth, is currently very low on stock for food hampers. With the coming of winter, many needy families attend Shopfront to collect a food hamper. We request that each family in our school community donates non-perishable cans or goods that will assist Shopfront in putting together and supplying food hampers. We will create a ‘hamper wall’ in the Wandju Room and then donate the goods to ‘The Shopfront’. Please send items to school with your child by the end of Week Five.

Towards the end of this term, we will conduct a Gold Coin Challenge, where each student is asked to bring a gold coin donation to contribute to LifeLink Money Collection. Each House will have an opportunity to collect as many coins as possible (House points to be awarded for the most coins collected).

From The Principal – SBC Newsletter Term 1, Week 5
We’ve reached the midway point of Term 1 and it has been five weeks of multiple activities, lessons and as always with more to look forward to at St Brigid’s. Today members of our College staff gathered for professional development whilst our students from K to 12 enjoy a long weekend. The greatest impact on a child’s learning is the teacher, and the continual commitment to building the capacity of staff will ensure that St Brigid’s College offers an elite educational programme for all students. Our priority at the College is to ensure that there are high levels of learning, every lesson, every day. Our students are encouraged to be active learners, ensuring that they are working as hard as our teachers in the classroom. You can read more here about all the things we’ve accomplished this week at St Brigid’s.

St Brigid’s and Telethon Speech & Hearing
Did you know that our College is a Telethon Speech & Hearing Outpost school? Telethon Speech & Hearing & Outpost program is a comprehensive in-school support program spread over a network of primary and secondary schools across Perth. The program allows students with hearing loss from Kindy to Y12 to take a full and active part in mainstream school life. Yesterday was Cochlear Implant Day- and our very own Lucy M was featured by TSH. Here’s a peek inside how TSH and SBC support our students who are part of the Outpost Program. Thanks TSH for sharing Lucy’s story. Lucy’s Cochlear Implant Story – Telethon Speech & Hearing (tsh.org.au)
