Device Requirements
St Brigid’s College continues to extend our curriculum and build on our students’ knowledge of the vast array of technology available to them. St Brigid’s initiated the device lease program to enable students to access devices which are reliable, safe and meet the needs of the curriculum. The aim is to have all students and their teachers using the same devices, which allows the College to effectively and efficiently manage them. The College can deploy Applications externally as well as have cybersecurity filters in place for students whilst at school. The roll out of the lease program began in 2024 and by 2026 the intention is to have the whole College supported internally on the device program.
In 2025, if your child is in years 1, 2 4, 5, 7, 8,10 or 11 you will be part of the lease program, students do not require personal devices. The College device leasing programme and the device charge will be listed in the school fees.
If you are outside of these years, you are welcome to opt in early to the College lease program or continue on your existing BYOD device.
Laptop Programme
Under the BYOD Programme, students in Years 9 and 12 are expected to bring their own computing devices to school each day. The personal computing device needs to meet device specifications that are recommended by the College.
iPad Programme
As we continue with our Primary School iPad Programme, we ask that all students in Years 3 and 6 have an iPad that meets the specifications recommended by the College.
It is a requirement of the College that students have a carry case/ bag and a suitable external hard drive for back-ups.
